Düsseldorf marathon – 04 May 2008

I got up in the morning, looked out of the window of my hotel room to see that the weather was good.

I left the hotel, prepared the handbike and started my warming up session. We were called for the start and told that the first 3km will be neutral start. That meant that we had to cycle behind a safety car for 3km before we can go on our own at full speed.

After the neutral start distance, I was just concentrating on the guys of my division. My strategy was to keep with the group, try to make some attack, and wait for the end sprint. And as I expected , in the end sprint I ranked third with the Dutch athlete Johan Reekers.

So I won the second race of the German competition and I am looking forward for the third one.
