Nederland Championship time trial – Horst 2008
First thing in the morning, the weather did not look any good! And as expected, once I arrived it was already pouring down with rain which makes me feel that I won’t be able to break my last year record when I won the 2007 race.
After setting the bike and preparing it for the race, nobody was able to get good warming up as it was raining like hell and the wind was blowing in all directions.
My start was at 18:45. The first lap was not so bad, but after getting wet under the heavy rain and struggling against the wind, I wasn’t able to push as hard as I wanted to! Therefore, I finished the race about 15 sec slower than last year. However, I won my division in 1st place and I ranked 3rd on all divisions.
Although I couldn’t perform as well as intended, that was a satisfactory test for me since it’s the first time trial this year.
